The Political Talk In The United States Is Anything But Talk

SHARE ON :

Complete fabrications are what passes as political talk in today's electioneering. The screeching about the other party's ideas are insulting in that they usually miss every point made by their opponents. Some of them do not even care whether they have it right, they just need the sound bite.

When one side of the discussion will say that the other side wants to kill old people, that is beyond the pale.
The comments that one side wants kids with autism to be left on their own does not even pass the smell test. Demands that parts of one side be deemed a terrorist organization should be met with scorn, yet, it is not vetted for accuracy by the media.

While looking to the media to parse these comments is fruitless because of the inability of them to get away from many of the talking points. A commentator in the political arena said that the media had, indeed, died in 2008. It just did not know about it and has failed to revive itself, even now. No real fact checking has been going on and charges, based on lies, have been put forward as responsible journalism.

A large defect in the proceedings, normally put into the public viewing, are the debates that do not allow for actual debate. In an attempt to stifle discussion, these venues do not accomplish the purposes they are advertised as doing. The heated diatribes that result from this inability to impart information does not allow the American people to know what the truth is.

The debates that are established are nothing more than gotcha comments thinly disguised as thoughtful questions. The American people are not fooled by most of this rhetoric, however, many of them are. They have fallen prey to a cult of personalities that have little substance and great danger to the communication they shout they are participating in.

The talking points that many engage in are just that, talking points to make a sound bite. political talk should center around those things that can make society better. Uplifting ideas are the way to accomplish this, however, the tone of that speech must also be uplifting, not denigrating to the other side.
