Having a garden can be a wonderful and joyful thing but it could all vanish entirely in an instant from the weather. The changes in the weather are going to happen without notice and that causes grief for many gardeners. Without having changes in the weather, we would not have the purely natural beauty that surrounds us.

When you look at it, when there is no rain, you would be limited to what you can grow. But it could be demoralizing to put all of your effort in a garden only to have it wiped out by a violent hailstorm. When it rains to begin with, it's not necessary to worry too much about watering your plants yourself. The situation is all fine and dandy until the water cascading from the sky turns to ice. Any individual gardener who has had a garden totally wiped out in a ten minute hailstorm understands that feeling.

About the sole thing you can do is be prepared with some sort of protection for your plants. A particular solution may be a screen mechanism, which you make out of wire mesh, that can cover the garden at a moments notice, when it starts to rain. It will immediately protect your garden, in the event it turns to hail, and either way the water will drip through the screen onto your plants. The drawbacks tend to be that it is tough to set up and it can cost money. If you have not been slammed with a hailstorm, you can do something similar to this.

If your backyard garden has already been wiped out, you might want to find a way to help recover your plants. You are not able to really do much except to be patient and to take increased care with the surviving plants. You aren't going to know how well your plants will survive after a bad hailstorm. If you expect additional inclement weather, then you need to keep them covered and protected from the elements. Before you ever begin setting up your garden, you probably know how frequent hail storms are in your area. Because of this, you ought to have an emergency method to protect your plants. Even if it doesn't happen frequently, you'll want to be prepared.

It may generally take the loss of your garden one time because of a hailstorm to realize you should have done something. You might want to take preemptive measures so that the worst will be avoided. You may have expended a lot of time and effort in your garden so carry out what you can to protect it.
