I usually show up at PMI chapter meetings for some reasons. These meetings help me to create my network. Also, it is a great way to share our experiences. Besides, you will acquire credit for participating in the meeting that can be used for recertification. In one from the meetings, the chair introduced a couple of professionals, who received PMP certification lately. In that achieving, one of the participants who had been a certified PMP enquired how these guys felt about the particular PMP exam, and have they faced any difficulty while preparing the actual exam. The newly licensed PMPs said that the exam was fairly simple since they employed mock exams before attempting the true exam. Hearing this, a trigger went off within my mind and articles about PMP make fun of exam was a necessity to vastly aid PMP aspirants.

The Project Management Institute (PMI) could be the leader and probably the most widely recognized organization in promoting project management recommendations. Both the PMP and CAPM exams are gaining a lot of popularity and demand in every areas of business and also have become the business standard certification with regard to Project Management. In January 2010 there was already 90, 000 PMPs and 25, 000 CAPMs, and the quantity is increasing from an exponential rate. The PMP exam is a four-hour, multiple-choice question evaluation. The exam is targeted on the candidate's knowledge of project management as well as the ability of the candidate to use that knowledge in lots of different situations and also scenarios. A score regarding 61 percent must pass the examination. The exam offers 200 questions, of which 25 questions are thought "pre-test" questions. This means you'll have to answer 106 correct questions from 175 live questions.

Despite the term "pre-test", these questions are seeded throughout the exam to test their worthiness for future exam queries. They don't count against you, but you won't know in case you are answering a live question or even a pre-test question. These exams are certainly not free. You have to pay a large amount of amount to consider the exam and in addition in case someone has to retake the exam, I've included charges for these exams for your reference. PMP exam for any PMI member: $405; PMP exam to get a non-PMI member: $555; PMP re-exam for any PMI member: $275; PMP re-exam for a non-PMI member: $275; CAPM exam for a PMI member: $225; CAPM exam for any non-PMI member: $300; CAPM re-exam for a PMI member: $150; CAPM re-exam to get a non-PMI member: $200.

Now let's go back and critique the particular preparation strategy the actual newly certified PMPs acquired used. It seems to me that they used the right strategy to get ready the exam. I think they took a prep course, gone through the PMBOK guide; spent few days to review the process roadmaps and formulas; took mock exams to get into their readiness and weak areas; improved the places where they found they were weak; took the genuine exam and PASSED the exam inside the first attempt, and saved the particular retake fee. I have conducted poll surveys inside few PMP blogs, and the end result revealed that a lot of the certified PMPs purchased mock exams before writing the true exam.

Likewise, PMP blogs and also getting input coming from PMP certified specialists can also allow you to understand the areas where you need to concentrate, and to get the shortest route in order to pass the test. I did not fully grasp this opportunity when We wrote the exam several years ago. Now more information & opportunities are for sale to candidates who wanted to become PMPs. Only thing is they need to fully exploit these opportunities to move the exam.
